We’ve always had a strong commitment to sanitation – it’s a huge part of the reason Kona Ice even began. Born out of the unsanitary procedures of the creepy ice cream truck, we’ve always taken pride in our cleanliness.
Now we’ve taken the next step and gone the extra mile with our brand new MicroShield initiative. MicroShield is a food-safe surface cleaner that protects against cross-contamination that ensures that we’re as sanitary as possible moving forward.
The great thing about Kona Ice being mobile is the ability to be out in our communities. It’s who we are– a part of the communities we serve. We’re at the schools. We’re at the ballfields. We’re at the churches. We meet people where they are. And where have they been? Home.
Enter Kurbside Kona, our new delivery program. Customers can pre-order through our Kurbside Kona website for certain delivery windows in their area. They place their order and the Kona truck pulls right up to their driveway to serve them. It’s been a really successful program for our franchisees, but most importantly, we’re thankful we can be a spot of sunshine in otherwise dark and uncertain times.
With so much uncertainty about what the “new normal” is going to look like on the otherside of COVID-19, we wanted to give franchisees as many tools as we could to allow them the choice of how they market themselves moving forward. Our Learning & Development team worked alongside our Kona Kreative team to create multiple concepts and marketing initiatives franchisees could choose from to help relaunch their business.
